History: | The Kirby Lumber Company operated a sawmill at Woodville after 1900 to about 1920. The Southern Industrial and Lumber Review, June 1904, noted that the Kirby Lumber Company sawmill at Woodville tram road logged in three areas, one about three miles from the mill and the other two between Silsbee and Village. The American Lumberman reported in 1906 that Kirby's tramway at Woodville was three miles in length. |
