Historicial Development: The Southern Industrial and Lumber Review reported in August 1914 that the “Sullivan Sawmill and Lumber Yard” burned on the morning of August 6, 1914. Lost along with the sawmill was two million feet of lumber. The sawmill plant was located near “Spanish Bluff,” about twelve miles southwest of Nacogdoches, and the trade journal reported the owners to have plans of rebuilding.
