Historicial Development: Polk County tax records report in 1848 and 1849 that T. S. Stubblefield's administrator revealed that Stubblefield had an interest in a sawmill. In 1848, Stubblefield owned 2,400 acres, five slaves, two horses, thirty cattle. In 1849, he owned 1,700 acres, four slaves, two horses, twenty cattle, oxen, a wagon, and hogs.
