History:	Very little is known about the tram operations of the Yellow Pine Tram and Lumber Company, the name later being changed to the Yellow Pine Lumber Company. Established in Colmesneil, Tyler County, about 1883, undoubtedly the company conducted logging operations. In the beginning it would have been with animals and wooden rails. An undated clipping of an unknown newspaper, obviously of 1891, when the company suffered being closed down because of financial problems, noted that the new manager, W. H. Carson, “has paid for two large locomotives, and the steel and construction of nearly fifteen miles of standard gauge tram road; . .”. Royal Ferris took over the financially troubled company later in 1891, only to lose the mill to fire in 1893. The mill was not rebuilt.
