History: Keith Richards operated a tram road that supported logging operations for his sawmill community at Alonzo (Alonso) in Walker County. The road was narrow-gauge, consisting of three miles of twenty-pound tracks. Rolling stock included a seventeen-ton, narrow-gauge Davenport locomotive and an unspecified number of tram cars, probably no more than eight or ten. The tram road would have been located into the local pineries of Walker County, and possibly Montgomery County. The mill itself was located adjacent to the tracks of the International & Great Northern, 3,300 feet south of Mile Post 97 south of New Waverly on ten acres of W. F. Spiller survey.
