History: Boynton Lumber Company, still operating its sawmill at Logtown in Newton County, was opening a new sawmill at Sturgis, San Augustine County, about 1910. Boynton Lumber bought a Baldwin 2-6-2 locomotive from what Strapac identifies as the Irish Bayou Lumber Company. Irish Bayou is probably a mistake for what is known as Ayish Bayou of San Augustine County.
