History: This hardwood mill could cut between 40,000 to 50,000 feet daily of oak, ash, hickory, and gums. The Lufkin News reported in 1916 that this company “cuts 40,000 feet a day and has a pay roll of $5,000 per month.” It is known that it operated a ten-mile logging tramroad. Keeling reported that Philip A. Ryan operated three rod locomotives on it.
