History: | Central Coal & Coke Company (4-C) undoubtedly operated a tram road in support of the lumber plant in bought in 1893 at Texarkana from Bowie Lumber Company. Increasing cutting capacity more than four-fold to 175,000 board feet per day, the company would have to have had access to a ready supply of lumber. It is also known that the company operated tram roads at its plants at Kennard and Conroe in Texas and Carson and Neame in Louisiana. |
