Historicial Development: The Wingate and Lynch mill operated for nine months during the census year ending May 31, 1880. It was valued at $2,500 and the owners paid from $1.00 to $3.00 per day to twenty-five employees (including three children under the age of sixteen]. The work day was eleven hours.
