Historicial Development: J. L. Montgomery was operating a sawmill south of Denson Springs in 1915, when it was seized by Sheriff D. H. Guinn and auctioned for $750 to Charles Kennedy of Guaranty State Bank of Grapeland, Texas. Equipment included a boiler, an engine, a carriage, a three-saw edger, two cutoff saws, a planer, carriage and feed works,and two log wagons.
