Historicial Development: W. G. Harry was a sawmiller and shingle maker in Alto after the turn of the century. According to Cherokee County records, he mortgaged with Chronister Lumber Company in the amount of $155 a 48”-inchcircular saw, three 3636-inch shingle saws, a shingle block, and one shingle mill. He was listed in the LCA 1907 edition as a manufacturer of yellow pine lumber.
