Historicial Development: F. A. Talley bought, on December 8, 1905, from R. L. Talley his sawmill for $3,900 and payment of a lien by Tharp and Griffith for $1,300 against the property. The sale of December 1905 included the following: the sawmill with engines and boilers, edger saw, all trams and wagons, uncut timber on Whitman and Mays survey, all goods in the commissary store. F. A. Talley and R. L. Talley sold, on January 10, 1906, to W. J. Norris & Co the R. L. Talley & Co. on the D. F. Whildon survey. The sale of January 1906 included one Ames #10 boiler, one Ames 10-inch by 12-inch steam engine, one Curtis edger, a carriage and saw box, six dollies, also two log wagons, fifteen oxen, the commissary and merchandise, sawmill and houses, and all uncut timber of Whildon and Mays survey. The stock of lumber at the mill still belonged to R. L. Talley.
