Historicial Development: The Matlock mill was originally situated at Linn Flat, about two miles north of Trawick. A newspaper in 1901 carried an ad for the sale of a milling operation by H. P. Matlock. Located near Linn Flat, equipment and property consisted of 300 acres of land, a grist mill, a sawmill, and a cotton gin. Matlock was asking $2,400.
