| Historicial Development: | A deed of trust filed at Upshur County courthouse in 1908 noted that Fred Eastwood, owner of the Harleton Lumber Company, located about four miles northwest of Harleton, deed in trust his sawmill plant to R. W. Taylor, a sawmill owner of Marshall, Texas. The plant used to belong to W. H. Bolding. Equipment included three boilers (a W. K. Henderson 42-inch by 14-foot; a 44-inch by 12-foot, and a 44-inch by 12-foot), a center crank 11-inch by 15-inch Skinner steam engine, a center crank 91/2-inch by 13-inch steam engine, two saws, two edgers, one resaw, one gummer, once carriage with headblocks, a #3 Sewell steam feed, one No. 11 Hoyt planer, a blower, one set of blacksmith tool's, a slab car, one log car, plus all items necessary for running the mill. |
