Historicial Development: Panola County records document that E. R. Yarbrough had a sawmill and planing outfit, powered by either gasoline or diesel, near Beckville in 1943. In that year, E. R. Yarbrough sold his one-half undivided interest in the outfit to J. D. Brasher plus the buildings housing the said outfit. Brasher moved then sold an interest in the outfit to Darnell Lumber Company in 1944. The outfit was probably located on the Darnell Lumber property south of Carthage. In 1947, Brasher sold out his interest in the Darnell Lumber Company for $10.00 and other considerations in equal amount to Gordon L. Darnell and Laurence Edwin Carnell.
