Historicial Development: R. H. Jowell owned a sawmill somewhere in Panola County in 1942. He sold it to J. L. Badgley for $10.00 and other considerations in February. Equipment included a Turner sawmill, an edger, the power unit, various logging tools, a four-wheel logging wagon; blacksmith tools; three mules and a horse, and “tents, living quarters and other buildings.” Badgley may have bought a small company town with the sawmill plant.
