Historicial Development: On November 27, 1907, N. S. Harris mortgaged with M. A. Jordan for what was apparently the Jordan sawmill, according to Panola County records. Equipment included the sawmill, an Atlas boiler, an Ames steam engine, and other fixtures at the sawmill. J. W. Goode and W. S. Chadwick, on October 21, 1908, mortgaged with N. S. Harris for his sawmill, including an Atlas 44-inch by 14-foot boiler and an Ames 10-inch by 12-inch steam engine. The amount was $610.18.
