Historicial Development: State Line Lumber Company had been operating a sawmill plant about six miles north of De Berry, located on the east side of the Sabine River. Apparently the company defaulted on its payments, for it was sold by its officers, J. W. Davis and T C. Davis, to A. G. Brooke and J. G. Woolworth, as Trustees, in 1907, for $1,500. In May of 1908, Brooke & Woolworth sold the former State Line Lumber plant to Louis Werner Sawmill Co for $1.00 and other considerations.
