Historicial Development: After selling his old sawmill about two miles north of Carthage, R. E. Trabue contracted with A. Alsup to buy Alsup's sawmill in 1904 on a mortgage for $550, according to Panola County records. Equipment included the sawmill, the mandrel, an arc saw, a carriage, a friction feed, and lumber buggies. The R. E. Trabue sawmill was listed at Timpson in the LCA editions of 1905 and 1907, while his office was at Carthage.
