Historicial Development: The McKinney Lumber Mill operated at Annona, some miles east of Clarksville, during the 1960s and 1970s. This small mill employed less than six men and produced about 4,000 feet of lumber daily. In 1966, it manufactured rough and dressed lumber. In 1973, McKinney produced 625,000 board feet with four employees. The mill sawed primarily gum, hickory, longleaf pine, and oak.
