Historicial Development: Harvey D. Jones and Harvey A. Fears, according to The Jacksonville Journal in 1947, had been operating at Brachfield, in Rusk County, since 1939. Fire destroyed the plant completely in 1946 and had been rebuilt with a sawmill and a planing mill. H. D. Jones and H. A. Fears used two trucks and two contract trucks in their logging operations on 500,000 standing feet of timber. A county history reported that the company was the last sawmill in Brachfield, located on the property of Douglas Bunn. The Clinton-Phillips firm operated a sawmill much earlier at the same site.
