Historicial Development: The G. N. Boles Lumber Company had a sawmill at Mount Enterprise since 1942. The Gulf Coast Lumberman reported that it had been destroyed by fire in 1954. The uninsured loss was $12,000. The mill was probably rebuilt, for it appeared in the 1957 edition of Nelson T. Samson's Directory of Wood-Using and Related Industries in East Texas. The Directory of Texas Manufacturers 1956-1958 reports only the Boles-Vaught-Langford Lumber Company at Mt. Enterprise in 1957, with a beginning date of 1950.
