Historicial Development: Tom Fitzgerald had a sawmill located near that of G. W. Reid as revealed in an April 23, 1923 mortgage document registered in the San Jacinto County Chattel Mortgage Register, when Reid purchased the Keisler mill located on the Enoch Jones Survey, five miles northeast of Oakhurst, in San Jacinto County. The document notes that “Keisler mill, [was] situated near Tom Fitzgerald's mill, . .”. D. F. Hall, a sawmiller from Walker County, and W. M. Knight purchased this mill on August 18, 1924.
