Historicial Development: J. R. Geaslin mortgaged to the Peoples State Bank a 225-horsepower diesel engine, one Corinth sawmill, a twelve-foot mandrel, a three-block carriage all logs and lumber, two horses, and a rubber-tired log wagon “all located on the Geaslin place 3 miles south of Stephens Creek.” The Gulf Coast Lumberman carried an advertisement on June 15, 1947, that J. R. Geaslin wished to sell a sawmill located at Stephens Creek.
