Historicial Development: W. H. Reynolds and Sons operated a sawmill, according to county records, about ten miles west of Crockett in 1930 “on the Mose Merrit lease.” That year the made a sale of more than a million feet of pine lumber from their yard to Weaver Brothers. The Lumbermen's Credit Rating Book, October 1934 listed this sawmill as operating at Crockett.
