Historicial Development: Edmonds and Jones bought 234 acres in the Charles Smith Survey from B. F. Purl in November 1899. In that same month, they acquired 1600 acres in the Thomas Dever Survey from W. C. Belcher. Belcher, acting as a trustee for himself and in the interest of others, sold the millers an additional 734 acres. Jones sold his interest to Edmonds in November 1900, who sold the mill to Lacour the next month. Lacour reported on the 1899 county tax rolls 188 acres and 100 acres on the J. Dunman and Robert Whitlock surveys, respectively, twelve horses and mules, two hundred cattle, one wagon, and a steam engine and boiler worth $300.
