Historicial Development: A letter from J. A. Herndon in 1923 to B. F. Bonner of Kirby Lumber Company reveals that the Magnolia Lumber Company sawmill was cutting hardwoods at its mill at Roganville. The company offices were located at Kirbyville. The Southern Lumberman, in 1928, reported that the Magnolia Lumber Company was sawmilling at Kirbyville.
